GENERAL CHARATERISTICS
KEYLOS® 35 EVO represents the latest improvement of Lucchini RS steel grades traditionally dedicated to the plastic injection and compression moulds, developed with specific focus on the big sized blocks. Thanks to the accurate design of its chemical composition and to the special heat treatment procedure, KEYLOS® 35 EVO is characterized by excellent hardenability across the block, minimizing the decrease of the hardness from surface to core, excellent ratio of hardness to toughness, very high thermal conductivity and excellent finishing properties. KEYLOS® 35 EVO steel was developed by Lucchini RS from the standard steel grade 1.2738 HH, widely used and appreciated for its characteristics of high hardness, excellent toughness and homogeneity, further improved by Lucchini RS experience in injection moulding field. KEYLOS® 35 EVO represents, in fact, a further step in the continuous improvement of 1.2738 HH steel grade developed by Lucchini RS over time. According to the low Carbon Equivalent content, the weldability is excellent and KEYLOS® 35 EVO is easier and safer in case of welding repair.
